A good improvement

Today was a very good day for Dad. He got out of bed with help and was walking around a bit which he hasn't done in a long time.

He had a little bit of soup and some chocolate milk but they haven't resumed feeding through the tube yet. They want to see if he will start eating solid food which is always better than via the tube.

They also took out the catheter which is very good news. Dad is committed to getting better and he wants so much to get out of the hospital and go home. He often jokes about making a secret operation to have us help him escape, even just to go to Tim Hortons for coffee.

His counts continue to climb little by little and we are so thankful for this!

That's it for today. We're so thankful for the progress Dad has made, our prayers are being answered!

We keep thinking of you.

It is good to hear that Ed is getting up a bit here and there and moving around. We hope that he can handle food soon as well. I read your blog everyday in amazement and rejoice with everyday that progress is being made. Rejoice for each and every day that the Lord gives, both in the up and downs, for it is by His providence and care alone. We think of you too Flo, how you are fairing for it is a very emotional ride. May God continue to give you all strength of faith and courage for this journey you have all been placed on.
A Tim's may be on the way one day.:o)

What good news! It comes as such a joy after so many days of little or no progress or "regressive progress" (I wonder if this phrase has been coined yet?) The positive attitude is so great to hear. May the good reports of God's grace continue to be had by you and yours.

We are thrilled to read this great news... tonight at the dinner table I explained to our boys that we were going to thank God for giving you a good day and even allowing you get up and walk a bit. Josiah (Gr 3) was quick to say 'I know why he could walk, because our whole school is praying for him - everyday I ask Miss Byl or Mr Torenvliet to pray for him.'
You are never far from our minds,
Cam, Heidi and boys Aikema

We are happy to hear Ed's doing better. Don & Edith are here and we just checked the blog and they are pleased with the improvement. They send best wishes from Arizona where Don's brother Gordon and wife Leone are for the winter. You are in our thoughts and prayers. God bless
